Original ! I would not have guessed if you had not specified what it were. Read you soon :)

Thank you, Matthieu. I was trying to be arty.... That's the best I can do, I think...

Yes, looks like swiss cheese.

Yuck, I'm not biting into this one. (I like this word verification - UWOWD)

Beautiful... almost as good as the ones here! I love natural patterns, well done!

Meg Nakagawa said...

Well, John, gum trees are yours, so of course they are beautiful over there. I remember the first time I was in Melbourne in '88 I saw the pollen 'travel' like colouds. (You keep Russell Crowe.)

This looks like a piece of abstrat art. I wouldn't have guessed that it was a tree!

By the way...I've heard of gum trees but I had no idea they were just a eucalyptus!

Susan, it was great fun looking for patterns all over, and just from a small section of the trunk, too.

Looks like a NSW South Coast spotted gum - one of my favourite trees. Nice shot!

NSW South Coast spotted gum - I'll remember that, Sally.

it looks like a cute rhino character! I love it!

It does, doesn't it? And blown up, the texture is rather leathery, although the tree itself is very smooth and wonderful.
