11 Mates:
Love the focal point of the seal and blackbird having a conversation. Nice color contrasts.
Hope that you are enjoying your vacation :-)
Thanks Photowannabe.
Keropok Man, thanks for that.
The trip is on last weekend (26/Oct(night)~28/Oct)and this series of photo is taken just on one day (27/Oct).
Here Nelson to Blenheim is less than 2 hours drive and Blenheim to Kaikoura is about 2 hours plus.
I prepared another two shots, from this trip.
okay okay perhaps i'm TOO north american but if you tranpose the letters it's oahu and not ohau... is this weird? or am i just being too arty?
No, not at all, Piika, I had to fact-check a few times to know I got it right. But then Hawaiian and Maori (NZ's indigenous people) are related and some of the words are similar if not the same. Moana, for example is a Maori word as well.
nature is amazing, thanks for sharing and have a good weekend.
Its funny Meg.:) I am on your site when you comment on mine:)
This is a cute photo...I dont know the name of this animal in English but I like how clever they are in the water.
Thank you for stopping by Piika.
Jazzy, yes, nature is amazing!
Zsolt72, it's called Seal and they are clever and very good hunter.
I love seals, haven't had a chance of taking a good photo of one, good that you did :)
Thanks Lachezar.
We have few seal colonies around top of south island. This is one of them.
Famous one is at Kaikoura and Abel Tasman National Park.
I'll try again sometime, but I need telephoto lens to catch better close up.
thank you Ben...Seal..I will remember:)
