Theme Day: A Public Mail Box

This old style mail box is still used, right across the street from my office. There are still few more of these around, as are even older ones as seen here. Meg posted examples of the newer and newest styles we have here.

Today is Theme Day. Other DP Blogs have also posted "A Public Mail Box" shots. Please click on the numbers below to view them.

Another red mailbox! This one is large and has an interesting shape. Good snap!

let me go visit NZ's newer boxes ...

Have a good weekend!

Are you sure that's not a fire hydrant? Have you checked if any letters posted there were actually delivered?

Much nicer than the newer style ones you gave a link to.

The new ones are AWFUL!

Very proper looking!

Although it is obviously influenced by the British ones, I can't find one like that from England

I like those, and so much dislike the new ones. I think the round one has got more character!

Well done, Cheers!

Just a quick bonjour from Normandy where I am today trying to look at all of the theme day posts. Very beautiful red and interesting that Ham can not find out more about it. I'm disappointed in you Ham. ;-)

This is a very nice picture and the mail box is very nice too!

I've just realised that the differences of the mail boxes makes the daily city photo blogs much more perfect.

Very stately. I like Meg's photos as well ... I sure am glad theme day fell on a weekend this month. During the business work week I would find it hard to get around to this many photos.

I think EVERY country should have a national competition for school children to come up with some nicer mail boxes.

The ones in NYC look like ugly trash cans. Eck!

Wish we have mail boxes as grand as yours.

Thank you everyone for stopping by and left comment or two.
I found it was very interesting to see different colour, shape and lot's of similar ones and of course few jokes. Well done team!
