That is pic is a wiinner.
Old trees with those bare branches are beautiful.
Thank you for your visit!
What do you mean by winter tree? was this photo taken last winter? Whichever season, that tree is always beautiful! Happy weekend!
PS: Ive been coming to Nelson daily photo since I began to blog but I recently discovered your other page in Nihonggo...Konnichiwa! Hajimemashita...Gizelle desu! =)
Mirage2g. . .it is now winter in the southern hemisphere. Thus, Meg's Winter Tree title.
Meg, that is such a grand old tree. I love seeing all of it's branches. Is it an elm? (It's form reminds me of some trees from my childhood yard).
I took a photo of an enormous old Red Oak last winter here, and now I've got to remember to shoot it all green leafed soon before the autumn turn to red. Maybe you will show us this one again in spring. Glad te wind didn't bring it down!

Gorgeous image.
These trees are truly beautiful in this last winter days light. I was driving yesterday and had trouble not to stop and photograph each single one of them...
Cheers!
Thanks, everybody. Mirage2g, we're nearing the end of the winter in downunder, so winter is now, as Kim said.
Lachezar, I'm glad you didn't get into an accident, and happy birthday.
Just coincidentally, I've been finding a lot of paintings of winter trees by various artists lately, so maybe this tree resonated with the memory of the paintings.
This is very grand against such a beautiful sky. I love the blue trying so hard to break through the grey. Nice shot.
It is a mesmerisng image. You were obviously waiting to get this shot. Good to see something as beautiful as this tree actually being preserved.
Thanks, Sue.
No, Babooshka, I was rushing to the library and saw this and it reminded me of a couple of paintings so I took two shots. Lucky one of them turned out ok.
ay yes, I forgot lol....=D My friend was telling me the same thing lol, too much in mind! Hope you have a nice weekend!
We're having another very cold one, thanks, Mirage2g.
It is a beautiful tree and looks to be a healthy one too.
