Sometime this winter, we noticed they started building the taller part to the right, and I was suspicious it was going to be an obnoxious billboard, but now the construction has started to cover the old building, so it appears the much-talked about upgrade is finally going ahead.
I've seen lots of discussions about the upgrade, but not a plan that shows how the building is going to look.

Oh, anything to obscure the "Blot on the Landscape"! Just hope the building can bring as much enjoyment as the spring flowers.
Love the Kids Kapers, always thought it was a perfect place for spring flowers when in Nelson last September. Eat your heart out rest of the world, Nelson thought of it first!

PS - Miss Ben's daily photos.
Thanks, Lesley for your comment about my other blog.
The other one is not intended to be a daily photo but ... yes, I haven't posted for few days. I will do when I've found/made a time to shoot something for that blog.
Here is the panorama shot include this construction I posted earlier. I'm hoping something an interest accent will be added in the picture.
Ah, Ben your panarama view of the area brings a certain amount of homesickness, with the overcast skies and wet terrain! But it is a great view - and stunning work with the camera. You and Meg have me looking at everything from a different perspective now, framing and considering what would make an interesting shot when out and about.
As for the Trafalgar Centre, now I am more hopeful that the building will have more appeal once finished. Lesley Expat Kiwi
One of the first things we did when we came to Nelson was to go to a Joe Cocker concert at the Trafalgar Center and it felt like a high school gym rearranged. This looks like to be a bit of a upgrade, that's for sure. At least a bigger gym.
