Day One, Tuesday

Nice builders Shane (bathroom and kitchen specialist) and Ryan worked in the scorching sun on our dark green roof for the better part of the day destroying our solid concrete, (not blocks) chimney. (Well, it rained the minute they opened up the roof, but that lasted for two and a half minutes.) Then they opened up the kitchen wall to find out the fire place is solid concrete, not blocks, and they warned me Day Two will be very noisy day. Inside there's at least three times as much concrete as the chimney.

I love these guys; they are nice, polite, clean and considerate, but I can't stand the noise or the dust involved in breaking up concrete. My whole being feels dusty and gritty, and the whole house shakes. Yikes.

It sounds like you have two good workers doing the job. I suppose the thing being solid concrete came as a surprise. I how they don't charge extra for the extra labor it might take.

They are such nice guys, and very tidy, considering the work they are doing, but BY GOLLY IT'S NOISY AND I CAN'T HEAR MYSELF THINK!!
