This was shot at Blythells Bay, Marlborough Sounds, not this past weekend but the one before. I just looked up to see the cloud and found the moon next to it.It's been raining off an on for almost a week since then, and it's hard to remember the clear sky.

Imagine that we’ve actually gone to the moon… and returned. Not once but several times. And we will again. These are fascinating times.

today and yesterday we've had spells of torrential rain and spells of bright sunshine alternatily hourly all day!
I had to look twice to find the moon. What I don't yet understand is how some photographers take photos with the moon looking as large as a building. I think it has to do with catching the moon close the horizon and taking the photo at a distance from the building which contrast the moon.

Denton, you should use telephoto for such a photograph. Say 300mm as a reference mark but may be 400-600mm? I recall, JB took large moon with his 500mm. The telephoto will compact the field and you will get a large building along with the large moon next to it.

Thanks for visiting my North Bay Blog and for the advice not to drink too much "sugary soda"!! Unfortunately, since it was Canada Day, I indulged in lots of chips and pop (not to mention red icing birthday cake for Canada!!).
Hey Ben great shot of the cloud and moon. Cheer up The sun will come out tomorrow? Maybe. Its hard to believe that some are in drought and others are suffering from torrential rains and flooding.
