June Theme Day: The View from Our Bedroom

You asked for it; the Liquid Amber tree just outside our bedroom; to the left is also a tiny cherry tree. This was taken yesterday morning. Autumn is coming to an end and the leaves are 60-70% gone, but we feel this year we had a particularly beautiful and long autumn. (And yes, I'm up a bit early to finish my first "art" proposal.)

Today is Theme Day. Other DP Blogs have also posted "The View from My/Our Bedroom" shots. Please click on the links below to view them.

Ah, that’s so colourful. I still have a hard time understanding how anyone can enjoy autumn while we’re in the midst of spring. Fascinating little planet... :)

Hi, Per. I was just wondering if I want to get the small heater out, and recalling a conversation I had Tuesday night with a Swedish weaver-turned-art-glass-maker.

Looks like you're first to post the latest theme day. The sun is a couple of hours away here yet, and I'm preparing my entry! Liquid ambers are terrific harbingers of the seasons.

Very nice photo. I am glad you have winter coming and not the other way around.

Wouldn't it be different if you woke up in my house and looked out the bedroom window? My site shows what you would see.

Beautiful!
Thanks Meg, thanks to you I just understood something. I've heard people talk about trees called liquidambars before (spelled like that) and I thought "what a strange name for a tree".

You wrote liquid amber and suddenly it made sense!!!!!

That's a real wow.

Lucky, lucky you! What a perfect time to take a photo of a liquid amber.

It must indeed be difficult to wake up to this sight outside the window and leave for work.

The sight is lush with promise.

Thank you for your visits, everybody. We're having a "cold" snap this weekend - meaning, we've had a few "single digit" temperatures. Big deal - it's just nice and cozy when you have the fire going.

We've also had a bit of rain, though, and the leaves are almost gone.

K-man, I shall shoot the cherry tree in about 3 or 4 months time when it's in bloom.

It's fun/strange seeing the autumn colors from the southern hemisphere while we're finally enjoying summer!
